What it is: The LEGO Ideas Book
From the Lego website: Open the inspiration-packed LEGO® Ideas Book and break out the bricks! With over 500 fan-submitted building ideas, this colorful creation collection is sure to unlock every imagination.
Brain Benefits: Using the book to help create pieces with loose bricks (and possibly generate new ideas) helps build logic & reasoning, visual processing, planning, attention and more.
What I Love: My son LOVES Legos but he’s constantly asking me “What can I build, Mom? I need some ideas.” This book has ideas and color photos of pieces created and submitted by Lego fans. There are all kinds of vehicles, space creatures, robots, dragons, castles, board games and more. The book has interviews with some of the builder as well as tips and tricks. It’s a good way to put all those loose Legos to use—instead of finding them on the floor around the house when you’re barefoot!
What I Would Change: The book is a bit pricey at $25 (though there may be other sites that offer it for less).
